Looking for a quick but romantic getaway for you and your partner? Look no further! Winter in Door County is a great time to escape for some much needed together time.
Start out with breakfast at Al Johnson’s. Make sure to order the Swedish pancakes so you’re ready for a full day’s adventure. If you’re feeling indulgent order a hot chocolate. It comes with its own zip code of whipped cream.
After breakfast head to Ecology Sports to rent snowshoes. You’ll work off your breakfast snowshoeing in Newport State Park while enjoying the snowy scenery. It’s a great way to enjoy each others company away from distractions.
You’ll be feeling tired and hungry after your afternoon of snowshoeing. Stop by Top Shelf to pick up ingredients to make an intimate dinner in your room tonight. They can provide the food and wine while High Point Inn offers a fully equipped kitchen. You might be feeling a bit sore form the days activity so don’t forget to have a soak in the whirlpool!
Enjoy your winter getaway with your partner at the High Point Inn!

For you outdoor enthusiasts there are many activities for you to take advantage of during the day. There is cross-country skiing in one of our beautiful state parks. There are five state parks in Door County. Peninsula State Park and Newport State Park are the two closest with wonderful scenic trails. Or, weather permitting taking a walk outside in one of our quaint villages or scenic back roads, which this time of year is, a special treat. After your outdoor excursions I suggest to take your special someone out for a romantic Valentine dinner at one of our many fine restaurants. I would suggest dinner at Mission Grille. Last year my husband took me there and it was an unforgettable meal. We had an amazing five-course meal for two that started with a special prepared shrimp cocktail and ended with a chocolate cake that made my mouth water.
