It is now officially the beginning of autumn and the Door Peninsula is beautiful! With the dry summer season behind us we now have colors popping up everywhere and it is time to start celebrating the coming harvest!
This weekend Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery is having a festival to celebrate just that! At the Fall Harvest Fest there will be fun activities for the whole family including apple picking (of course), pumpkin bowling and painting, face painting, winery tours, live music and more!
Don’t worry if you cannot make it to Door County this weekend though! Seaquist’s Orchards will be having their own festivities the weekend of October 8th along with all the other fall fun that will be taking place in Egg Harbor at Pumpkin Patch Festival!
Of course, it is great to take a quick trip to Door County in-between all these busy fun festival weekends! This is the perfect time to meander around all the back roads and the main streets of Fish Creek, Ephraim and Sister Bay just taking in the colors and sites!
Here at High Point Inn our gardens are ready for autumn! Come join us soon to take it all in! We’ll have the fireplaces ready to go!
This weekend, Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17, give yourself the gift of a Door County getaway and spend the weekend on the Door peninsula. Save $20 per night on any 1, 2 or 3 bedroom suite and spend the weekend enjoying the early fall scenery. What can you do in Door County this weekend? Check out these suggestions:

Sister Bay Marina Fest is celebrated on the Saturday before Labor Day. The weather is supposed to be excellent and when combined with a suite at the High Point Inn, you have the makings for a perfect end of summer vacation getaway.
From the Peninsula Pulse:
The 18th annual Marina Fest at the Sister Bay Marina takes place Saturday, Sept. 3 with a full slate of Marina Fest favorites, plus a couple surprising new highlights.
A fantastic show of strength will be performed by the Strong Man Show as seen on ESPN. They will push, pull, lift, and entertain in a 5:30 – 7:30 pm show in the marina parking lot. Be there for pictures and autographs.
Continuous music has been booked this year with three diverse bands. From 10 am – 2 pm the River City Six will perform Dixieland jazz under the big tent while the food court gets underway and the huge used book sale takes place. Then from 2 – 3 pm piped music will accompany the popular award winning water-ski show with the Water Board Warriors. Taking the stage on the new boardwalk along the expanded marina will be Stone Sober with country/pop. Hitting the big tent from 5 – 11 pm will be Replica, the great cover band featuring hometown boys Paul and Todd Lent.
After your day in Sister Bay, relax at the High Point Inn by preparing a fabulous meal in your spacious suite, cooling off at the indoor or outdoor pools or by grabbing some downtime before you head out to dinner at any of our fine northern Door County dining establishments.
